Bergen County Sheriff's K-9 Unit Visits Lodi Junior Police Recruits

LODI, N.J. -- A Bergen County Sheriff's K-9 unit visited the Lodi Junior Police Academy class this week.

This is the fifth week of instruction and demonstration for Lodi's junior police recruits, who “continued to excel and push themselves to be better physically and mentally,” organizers said.

Lodi officers gave class instruction on drug awareness and other topics, while Sheriff’s Officers Robert Mantone and Marcelo Hagopian brought canines Mike and Flash to demonstrate the roles they play in drug and bomb detection, search and rescue, and protecting officers and the public.
